The Museum is a short 2D pixel art dialogue puzzle-solving game.  Player play as a detective investigating the disappearance of artwork from the local museum through a variety of interactions with suspects and clues.
My Contributions
I am responsible for the initial research on similar museum cases, the impact of theft on the local community, and how art theft and museum has historically been capitalizing off marginalized ethnic groups. After reading my research, our team decides to focus on the topic of art theft in small local museums, with an exploration of stereotypes in games.
As the lead artist, I am responsible for the layout of the game interface, interactable options, and character designs and backstory.
Game Play
Since all of us love puzzle-solving games, we decide to use the concept of Einstein's (Zebra) Puzzle to create a puzzle game.
- Player interacts with NPC and game objects, receives clues
- Player use clues to fill out the deduction board
-Player makes an educated guess on the culprit
- if correct culprit, end game -> win dialogue. Else incorrect culprit, loop.
